P Diddy Headed for Green Point
A
mere R66 to see one of the world's top hip-hop superstars live? Few fans could
resist it.
Sean
P Diddy Combs's participation in the MTV HIV/Aids awareness Staying Alive
concert may yet be viewed as a slick move to finally seal his transformation to
a socially conscious performer.
Only
two years ago, Combs was embroiled in a shooting scandal at a nightclub, lost
high-profile lover Jennifer Lopez, and seemed down and out.
P
Diddy made his first move towards redemption in the United
States
by hosting breakfast TV shows in April, and has since topped the charts in the US
with I Need a Girl, his single with Genuwine.
He
will join multi-award-winning R&B sensation Alicia Keys at Green Point
Stadium on November 23.
The
event will air as a special on MTV around the world on World Aids Day on
December 1, with the footage edited with that of the first Staying Alive concert
in Seattle
on November 7.
South
African talent on the bill will be announced soon.
